Community Allotment Plots

Community Allotment Plots

The community plots at the allotments in Upper Lighthorne are growing beautifully, and we’d love for you to be a part of this journey. Spring has already brought so many amazing changes, and as summer approaches, we’re excited to see the plots flourish even more.

Nature's Nook Community Orchard

Nature's Nook Community Orchard

We’re thrilled to share that the young trees in Upper Lighthorne’s community orchard are thriving! Pears, apples, and even a few early cherries are beginning to show—thanks to the hard work of our brilliant volunteers and neighbours.

Beautiful Harvests At The Allotments

Beautiful Harvests At The Allotments

We’ve had some beautiful harvests at the allotments lately - what a joy to see so many dinners bursting with flavour and community spirit.

From leafy greens and vibrant roots to soft fruits and crunchy veg, it's been a season of sharing and swapping the best of what we’ve grown together.

Decorate-A-Plate with Hedgehogs

Decorate-A-Plate with Hedgehogs

A big thank you to all who joined the hedgehog-themed Decorate a Plate event at Upper Lighthorne Park recently - it was a joy to see so many creative plates and smiling faces!

Special thanks to the Upper Lighthorne Nature Group and our wonderful councillor Christine, who not only helped bring the event to life but also hand-crafted a whole prickle of hedgehogs to raise funds for bird food at Avon Valley Bowls Club.

Your efforts are as heartwarming as they are woolly.

If you’ve spotted any hedgehogs - or would like a hand making your garden more hedgehog-friendly with a 13cm ‘hedgehog highway’ - do get in touch.

Every little patch of habitat helps these curious creatures thrive.

Thank you all for supporting wildlife and creativity in our community.
